Peggy Furth is the Co-Chairman of Chalk Hill Estate Vineyards & Winery. After a three-year period focusing her energy on the charitable activities of the Furth Family Foundation, she has returned to daily management of Chalk Hill Estate Vineyards & Winery. Her emphasis is introducing new consumers to the wonderful wines of Chalk Hill and expanding their culinary experiences with each of the varieties of Estate, Chairman's Club and special release wines. Presently she is focusing the sales, marketing and public relations departments with a drive towards sourcing the key accounts that match best with the luxury brand, Chalk Hill.
Peggy Furth arrived at Chalk Hill Estate in 1984 upon her engagement to Fred. They began a decades long adventure to transform the original bucolic Sonoma ranch into the magnificent 1,400 acre estate and home that one sees today. By purchasing adjacent parcels of land, they were able to recreate the historic Rich-Latimer estate, home to the Glen Valley Springs Resort of 1869.
Peggy and Fred Furth share the vision of an ultra-premium wine estate where the innate beauty and natural potential of the land are respected and protected. "This land has a legacy, a dramatic terroir of steep hills, oak forests and unusual soil types. The vineyards must be compatible with what nature has created here; we will preserve the natural contours of the land and plant grape varieties that successfully adapt to the soils and micro-climates," Peggy insists. "It is the sublime compatibility of the wild land with Chalk Hill's meticulous vineyards that creates the grandeur of the estate."
