WINEMAKER'S NOTES

The 2006 Chairman's Club Syrah/Carignan is a 50/50 blend of Syrah and Carignan from two polar opposites in viticulture. A field mixture of clones 174, 383 & 525 planted three years ago, the Syrah resides on a south-facing hillside. Aromas of blackberries, white pepper, barrel spice and tar expolode from the glass and the palate delivers a delicious mouthfeel of fruit and balanced tannin, with juicy black berries, eucalyptus and lavender.
